The 2021 TSA Annual meeting has been cancelled due to Covid-19

Please see the below letter from Dr. Andrew Franklin, TSA President

Please check back for the 2022 and 2023 meeting dates

Dear TSA Membership,

This year has been challenging for many of you, both personally and professionally. We have faced a year of uncertainty, confusion, and fear that many of us never thought we would experience in our lifetime. The COVID-19 pandemic has reshaped how we interact with our colleagues, patients, family, and friends. The pandemic has certainly changed how we go about our daily lives, causing us to restructure both professional and personal activities.

The Tennessee Society of Anesthesiologists Board of Directors has been discussing in great detail the upcoming 2021 Tennessee Society of Anesthesiologists annual meeting that is held each February in Nashville. It is with the utmost concern for the safety of our members that the Board of Directors has made the decision to cancel the annual 2021 TSA meeting and reconvene in February 2022. While we understand that our meeting is a networking and continuing medical education opportunity, we believe that this is the safest option given the ongoing challenges of COVID-19 combined with the advent of influenza season. This decision was made after discussions with other state societies and leadership within the American Society of Anesthesiologists. The Board of Directors will meet in February 2021 as scheduled and hold elections. The method for the election process is still being discussed and further communication will be sent to the membership once a process is finalized.

The TSA Board of Directors would like to thank you for your continued support of our state society. We will continue to work with our membership to navigate through tough circumstances and look forward to reconvening our annual meeting in February 2022. Please let us know if we can be of any assistance to you during this difficult and trying time. Additionally, we welcome any suggestions/comments or proposals for future meetings.
Thank you again for all you do for our patients and for each other in these challenging times.

Respectfully,
Andrew Franklin, M.D., M.B.A., FASA
President, Tennessee Society of Anesthesiologists
